Senior Consultant, HSE and Risk Services
Our client is a major global foundation providing highly technical, cutting edge consultancy services to the wind industry. Significant investments in Research and Development projects puts them at the forefront of innovation with regards to the engineering challenges, and associated risks, experienced by utilities, lenders, insurers and other stakeholders .The company are currently expanding their offerings in offshore wind advisory services with a particular focus on HSE. This role provides opportunities for ongoing professional development and challenging work with key players in the wind business.
The Role
- Apply advanced risk methodologies to develop, implement, maintain and continually improve best practices in managing HSE risks by:
- Combining technical expertise with management consulting skills.
- Identification, assessment and management of risks, using recognized management techniques to enhance safety and environmental performance.
- Project management and mentoring junior consultants in the execution of technical HSE risk projects.
- Lead sales activities and the development of proposals containing innovative and cost effective solutions to identify and manage risks in accordance with client's business objectives.
- Engage in services, business development and day to day internal and external operations.
- Interacting with the widely established client base and international organisations
- Winning new business with the support of the established business network
- Researching and developing innovative products and services in your field of expertise.
- Identifying and managing risks faced by financiers, investors, developers and operators.
The Requirements
- Degree (preferably master's level) educated within a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
- Offshore safety engineering experience with the ability to positively engage with and influence industry stakeholders, regulators, their clients and the supply chain on risk management matters.
- Experience as a senior or principal technical specialist, engineer or consultant who has demonstrable consulting experience in Risk Identification, Risk Understanding and Risk Management within the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical and Process, or Power Generation industries.
- Proven ability to conduct HSE technical risk assessments applying any of the following, or equivalent, methodologies: Process Safety Hazards, Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Process Hazard Identification (HAZID), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)Experience of incorporating all factors and aspects of HSE into the wind farm design.
- An established network within the industry.
- In addition to English, a working knowledge of German and/or Spanish is advantageous.
- Good people management skills are required - or an interest to develop in this field - this position will develop into a leadership role as the group expands.
- Organizational skills and ability within the team to meet deadlines and set and adjust priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs (principally Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access).
