Every year Taylor Hopkinson takes part in a charity drive. A well deserved cause and something the whole team can get behind.
2019 is a little different, it is our 10th anniversary, so we decided to support two charities and have several fundraising events.
This year we are proud to be working with CLIC Sargent and Childrens Cancer and Leukemia Group (CCLG).
Tom Hopkinson, our CEO said
“This year’s charity fundraising is especially poignant for me and my family following my niece, Seren’s leukaemia diagnosis just before Christmas last year. The support provided by CLIC Sargent has been a god send for my sister, Kate and the importance of CCLG’s ongoing research into prevention and cure of leukaemia just cannot be under-estimated. I’m very proud and grateful for all the efforts of my colleagues to support these great charities.”
Carol Jones, Fundraising Engagement Manager at CLIC Sargent, said
“We are delighted that Taylor Hopkinson has joined our fight for young lives against cancer, in their 10th anniversary year. Their fundraising plans are incredible and we can’t wait to support their efforts, which in turn, will help limit the damage cancer causes.”
Ashley Gamble, Chief Executive of CCLG, said
“We thrilled that Taylor Hopkinson will be supporting us through their fundraising activities in the coming year. CCLG is hugely reliant on the generosity and goodwill of our supporters to continue our vital work, and we look forward to working with them.”
We have planned lots of fundraising events across the business in the coming months:
The Great North Run, September
‘Be Bold, Go Gold’ during September
A Gig at the top of a Mountain (more information soon), and,
The Rat Race Ultra Tour of Edinburgh
The last event in the list above is a tough one.
The Rat Race Ultra Tour of Edinburgh – A 57km run through Edinburgh and surrounding hills in October.
None of the TH team are professional athletes. But, we are spurred on by ClicSargent and CCLG to push ourselves, see what we can achieve. Everyone in the team is able to take part in at least some of our events, some being more physical than others!
It’s all a tiny effort compared to the incredible work our partner charities do – caring for young children and their families in extremely difficult times.
ClicSargent & Childrens Cancer and Leukemia Group
The charities provide accommodation, financial support, counselling and transport during cancer diagnosis and treatment journeys. They also research and develop new cancer treatments and are a professional / government advisory.
We are passionate about minimising our carbon footprint and supporting other businesses to do the same. Another passion we hold dear is to raise awareness and funds for charities. Gruelling team events and challenges to raise money for amazing causes is now a part of Taylor Hopkinson.
We’ve taken part in half marathons, Tough Mudder, 22 mile mountain runs, The Great North Run, 215 mile bike rides, 26.2 mile assault courses and 105 mile run/cycle/kayaks’ across the highlands of Scotland.
