Taylor Hopkinson are delighted to be awarded the on-site Quality Services tender to supply personnel to East Anglia ONE offshore windfarm.
Onshore construction is already underway and, once fully commissioned in 2020, East Anglia ONE, a £2.5bn wind farm located 43km off the Suffolk coast in the North sea, will house 102 of Siemens 7MW wind turbines and will generate enough power to provide sustainable energy to over 530,000 of the UK’s 26 million households.
Taylor Hopkinson will provide personnel across all packages such as foundations, turbines, offshore transmission which will include site quality/inspection supervision, quality management, and fabrication supervision. Employing 50% UK content, the project aims to stimulate the East Anglia region and support thousands of skilled jobs.
Neil Brown, Senior Consultant for Offshore/Onshore Wind at Taylor Hopkinson commented…
“We’ve been supporting the business and following the progress of East Anglia ONE for over 6 years so it’s great to see it finally happening and we’re excited to be involved in the delivery phase”.
Both businesses have been working closely together since 2011 and Taylor Hopkinson have provided both permanent and contract personnel to Scottish Power Renewable’s Glasgow, London, Berlin and Paris offices.
Taylor Hopkinson have supported Scottish Power Renewables in the past to build out their teams for West of Duddon Sands, Wikinger and Saint Brieuc offshore windfarms.
East Anglia ONE is the first of four projects on the Scottish Power Renewables roadmap that aims to transform the area into a world leader in offshore wind energy. When fully completed, the four sites would have a combined capacity of 3.6GW.
