Global EV giant has posted two new job openings for solar and storage roles in China. These project manager roles are the first of their type to be announced by Tesla, representing the expansion of its energy business into the country.
The roles will be based at Tesla’s Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai, with one role focusing on solar projects for commercial and residential customers, and the other on developing energy storage projects.
This follows a tweet posted by its billionaire chief executive Elon Musk last month.
Having moved into the solar business in 2016 with its $2.6bn purchase of SolarCity, this proposed expansion fits well with the recent announcement by China’s energy administration that it will allocate 1.5 billion yuan ($217.27 million) to new solar power projects in 2020.
Please get in touch with our multilingual Solar team to discuss the exciting roles we have on in China and in our overseas markets.
