This is a wonderful project in Berlin, where a growing trend for urban gardening is allowing the younger generation and young families to grow their own fruit and veg sustainably. Where once this was popular only with the older generation, millennials want to grow their own food, without packaging or food miles. In Berlin, the average age of gardeners has dropped 5 years since 2011.
Not only is this brilliant from a sustainability point of view, but the rise in green spaces also offers a break from work and the digital world, which is important in making us feel healthier and happier, according to the study.
