Taylor Hopkinson are currently searching for an experienced BESS Design Engineer to join the team to assist with the construction of Utility-scale BESS Projects throughout the UK and Europe.
Role
- Assist with the technical planning and coordination for the construction of large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), including the selection and coordination of technical components
- Review and contribute to the approval of design packages for construction,
- Develop and maintain internal knowledge base documents and best practices for BESS Projects
- Monitor new BESS Product and technology launches throughout Europe
- Working with consultants and sub-contractors to oversee detailed design, engineering programmes and deliverables
- Assist in the design and cost optimisation activities, taking into account all EPC cost categories
- Prepare regular progress reports of the technical commissioning processes
- Manage technical query coordination with suppliers, sub-contractors and consultants at the design, selection, financing and project delivery stages
Requirements
- BSc, BEng or MSc in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering or similar
- Proven history of success in the technical design and specification of utility-scale energy storage projects
- Up to date and in-depth knowledge with how equipment works and how it interfaces within commercial contracts
- Experience with HV components is an advantage
- Experience in Energy Consultancy considered
- Successful experience working on projects across Europe and the UK
- Candidates must have the right-to-work as sponsorship isn’t possible
