We are working with a global leader in renewable energy who are currently recruiting for a Civil Technical Manager to provide engineering support for their Japanese renewable energy projects, particularly in onshore wind.
Your role will focus on delivering engineering services, all techno-commercial aspects of the project development.
Job Purpose
The Technical Manager – Civil role is responsible for all techno-commercial aspects of project development from inception to construction and commissioning completion. This includes coordinating all engineering activities on projects on behalf of the project managers and development managers. The Technical Manager will be:
1. Part of the core and trusted project team
2. Committed to delivering our engineering services as expected but can adapt to the unexpected
3. Accountable for and lead all engineering deliverable, meaning the Technical Manager will:
- liaise with and integrate all engineering disciplines
- collaborate with all stakeholders as required
- provide quality-assured engineering deliverable
- act on behalf of project SPVs to provide assurance of third-party deliverable
- assess and manage engineering risks
- create solution options to increase investment returns
Qualifications, Experience and Skills

- Bachelor of Engineering – Civil
- Professional Engineer Japan, 技術士
- Wind farm development experience

- Minimum 10 years experience working in the construction of power generating facilities and/or transmission/electrical systems.
- Proven track record in design and design management.
- Experience with project engineering or the manage mentor coordination of varied techno-commercial disciplines and activities.
- Management of contractors/sub-contractors and/or consultants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to complete tasks within designated time frame and prioritise accordingly.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Fluent in Japanese and English.
- Experience work working in consultancies
- Experience with the Class NK process for wind farms.
- Experience working with wind turbine OEMs.
