Commercial management and administration of all Subcontracts for civil and installation in relation to large scale HVDC projects. Effectively manage the various Subcontracts from a commercial perspective, in collaboration with other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in tender evaluation meetings for each Subcontract, to obtain understanding of the scope and provide comments /feedback.
  • Assist with any queries during procurement of Subcontracts on detailing scope of work (SoW).
  • Participate in every Subcontract handover meeting with to allow takeover of the Subcontracts and to ensure full understanding of the Subcontract’s SoW, terms & conditions and the respective costing, using this as starting point for managing each Subcontract.
  • Prepare Subcontract specific management tools, agenda and reporting.
  • Organize and conduct site Subcontract specific kick off meetings with each Subcontractor.
  • Receive Subcontract reports as per Subcontract requirements and distribute to project team for comments.
  • Manage Non-Conformity Reports (NCR) from / to subcontractors.
  • Receive and analyze variation order requests from subcontractors.
  • Prepare Subcontract specific variation orders, communicate internally and to the subcontractors.
  • Receive and analyze notifications / claims from subcontractor.
  • Receive, analyze and process Internal Change Orders for Subcontracts, for example design and site
  • Implement external change orders from client or third parties for relevant
  • Request subcontractor to present mitigation plan, if
  • Manage Quantity Surveyor / Cost Engineer if assigned to the subcontracting
  • Perform the roles and responsibilities of the QS / Cost Engineer, where a QS / Cost Engineer is not assigned /
  • Verify that all Subcontract payments (progress- and/or milestones-) are properly certified, documented and reported in line with Subcontract
  • Reviews with cost controlling as when and required to monitor budget and
  • Request for purchase orders to be raised or increased following a change to the Subcontract price in line with internal change

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in commercial related field e. BSc / MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Ideally be chartered / working towards
  • Extensive work experience in heavy / industrial business and preferably in the energy / HVDC sector
  • Subcontract management experience, this includes commercial, contractual and construction
  • Technical background is
  • Experience of successfully coordinating and managing multiple subcontracts / tasks
  • Proficient with standard form and bespoke
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 applications.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team
  • Possess exceptional communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across various levels of seniority.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross
  • Must have a proactive, creative and analytic approach to continuous improvement in procuring Sub-
  • Demonstrate a high degree of independence, requiring minimal supervision from senior management.
  • Proven knowledge and ability to identify risks and mitigate those
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on your own initiative with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Maintains a global perspective in thinking and cultural
  • Strong ability to communicate in English and at least in one other language from within the region e.g. German or French.
