Construction Manager – Solar
Key Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities:

Review, understand, and gain proficiency in all governing project documents, including:
-
EPC and Owner Representative contracts (including exhibits)
-
Drawings and specifications
-
Project schedules and work sequences
-
-
Serve as the primary on-site representative of the client for all construction activities.
-
Maintain awareness of all past, current, and upcoming site activities to ensure seamless execution.
-
Collaborate closely with EPC management to balance workload and optimize execution.
-
Provide insights and feedback based on prior project experience and lessons learned.
-
Support off-site project managers, engineers, Owner’s Engineers (OE), and Independent Engineers (IE) as needed.
-
Assist in communications and coordination with local stakeholders including landowners, power off-takers, permitting authorities, and other external parties.
-
Evaluate construction methodologies and recommend improvements where applicable.
-
Monitor, track, and provide input on Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and EPC communications.
-
Review contractor submittals and maintain awareness of their status.
-
Identify and report on construction progress issues as they arise.
-
Assist the Project Manager in verifying progress for milestone-based payments.
Daily/Weekly Responsibilities:
-
Participate actively in daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings, including QA/QC discussions (physical presence when appropriate).

Submit comprehensive daily reports via SharePoint. Reports should extend beyond the EPC’s POD reports and include the Construction Manager’s activities, QA/QC observations, and recommended remediations.

Attend and contribute to regularly scheduled project meetings to report on progress, raise concerns, and track open issues and actions.
Safety Responsibilities:

Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and programs on-site.
-
Lead and facilitate timely communication of safety-related matters.
QA/QC Responsibilities:
-
In coordination with the client’s Project Engineer, lead OE QA/QC personnel in daily inspections and testing.

Guide the on-site team in determining the appropriate QA/QC path forward each day.
-
Support the inspection and verification of delivered equipment and materials.
-
Conduct routine audits of quality control processes and ongoing work.
-
Monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including their resolution and corrective actions.
