Control Room Technician HV Commissioning

Control Room Technician HV Commissioning required for major Offshore Wind Farm developer to be based in Germany.

Responsibilities

  • High Voltage Operations & Switching.
  • Control Room & Grid Operations.
  • Fault Analysis & Support.
  • Train Client Operators to achieve switching authorization.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee HV/MV switching, isolation, and energization in line with safety rules and commissioning procedures.
  • Monitor and control offshore/onshore substations and transmission assets via SCADA to ensure safe and reliable system operation.
  • Manage and investigate system faults or alarms, coordinate restoration, and provide technical support to resolve issues.
  • Assist in HV commissioning, system integration, testing, and ensure compliance with grid code and TSO requirements.

Requirements

  • Several years’ experience as an HV-Switcher / Switching Authorized Person in the offshore environment, ideally in the German sector.
  • Switching authorization for HV systems (minimum 66 kV, preferably up to 155 kV or higher) according to VDE 105.
  • Experience in remote operation during commissioning activities
  • Strong knowledge of HV Safety Rules (VDE 105, and ideally Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR).
  • Hands-on experience with HV-SCADA systems and protection/control technology.
  • Proven experience working with Permit to Work (PTW) systems for work authorization and plant responsibility release..
  • Experience with electronic maintenance and operational systems (MMS, EDL).
  • Resilient, safety-focused, and a strong team player in a critical environment.
  • Willingness to work shifts in a 24/7/365 operation.
  • Ideally proficient in German and English.
  • GWO trainings are desirable but not mandatory, with the appropriate skills, offshore assignments may be possible as part of commissioning.
