Country Manager

The company is one of the top vessel operators for the offshore wind industry in Taiwan. The company Board is seeking a self-driven professional to helm and propel the growth of the company in an exciting industry.

The Country Manager (“CM”) will be in charge of developing and executing the business strategy of the company with a view towards creating sustainable competitive advantage, operational excellence, safe working culture and optimal shareholder value. The CM is a senior leadership role, and he will be responsible for all day-to-day management decisions and achieving the relevant business targets and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business strategies to achieve company goals.
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure business targets are met.
  • Drive business growth, manage contract negotiations, and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ensure the company is well-structured, adequately resourced, and staffed for safe and reliable services.
  • Monitor company expenditures, ensuring they align with the approved budget.
  • Identify and manage key business risks.
  • Strengthen management systems for operations, governance, compliance, and QHSE.
  • Lead talent development, succession planning, and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Uphold corporate integrity and ensure accurate public disclosures.
  • Implement and oversee crisis management and emergency response plans.
  • Serve as the company spokesperson during crises.
  • Ensure all marketing and publicity materials align with the company’s brand.
  • Organize shareholder meetings in coordination with the Board Chairman.
  • Lead by example, ensuring compliance with laws, company policies, and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Accountancy, Engineering, Maritime, or related fields; a management qualification is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience; vessel operations or maritime expertise preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the maritime industry and stakeholder management.
  • High commercial and business acumen with an international mindset.
  • Ability to prepare clear and logical business proposals, approval papers, and presentations for senior management and the Board.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (Taiwan); skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willing to relocate and be based full-time in Taichung, Taiwan.
