About the Role

We are supporting a global engineering and consulting organisation seeking an experienced Country Manager to lead and establish its Australian operations.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a results-oriented professional with a deep understanding of the engineering consulting sector particularly within renewable energy. The successful candidate will have the vision, entrepreneurial mindset, and technical credibility to build a business from the ground up, driving growth, client engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the company’s market entry and expansion strategy in Australia, establishing a sustainable and profitable business presence.
  • Identify key opportunities and partnerships across the engineering and infrastructure sectors to drive long-term growth.
  • Manage P&L for the Australian operations and ensure adherence to all local legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Act as the primary representative for the Australian market, maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and government stakeholders.
  • Align local strategy with global business objectives, ensuring consistency in brand, quality, and delivery.
  • Build credibility within the Australian engineering community through thought leadership, networking, and public engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Over 15 years of experience in engineering consulting, with strong exposure to renewable energy sectors.
  • Proven track record of launching and scaling operations, including P&L management and strategic business development.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Australian engineering and energy markets and strong local client networks.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging at C-suite and executive levels.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a startup-style environment while maintaining corporate discipline.
