About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead the development of a large-scale pumped hydro project. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of Australia’s energy transition, working on a critical infrastructure project that will enhance grid stability and support the shift to renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end development of a pumped hydro project, from feasibility to financial close.

Manage permitting, approvals, stakeholder engagement, and environmental impact assessments.

Oversee technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects of the project, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to optimise project design and execution.

Engage with government agencies, regulators, and local communities to ensure project success.

Drive risk management, financial modelling, and cost analysis to support investment decisions.
About You
- 5+ years of experience in major infrastructure development (hydro, rail, energy, or similar sectors).
- Strong track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects, preferably in renewable energy or hydro power.
- Experience navigating regulatory approvals, grid connection processes, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across technical, commercial, and government teams.
- Proven ability to drive projects from concept to execution within budget and schedule constraints.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience in financial modelling and contract negotiations.
