Director of Sales – DG

Taylor Hopkinson is in the look out of a Director of Sales for the Distribution Generation space with one of the world’s leading solar technology companies. Tier 1 module manufacturer best known for its high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon wafers, solar cells, and modules, and has grown into one of the largest manufacturers in the global photovoltaic (PV) industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead domestic market development, including customer acquisition, relationship management, and retention.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.

  • Achieve sales and collection targets, ensuring sustainable business growth.

  • Build and manage partnerships with high-quality distributors and residential channel partners.

  • Maintain regular communication and in-person meetings with key accounts to strengthen relationships and drive growth.

  • Coordinate with fulfillment teams to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Support co-marketing initiatives and industry events to enhance brand presence and market penetration.

  • Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and KPI tracking aligned with business objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with marketing and product management to align go-to-market strategies and product launches.

  • Conduct ongoing market intelligence gathering to stay informed of competitor activity, pricing trends, and regulatory shifts.


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of business development or sales experience in the solar industry.

  • Strong understanding of the U.S. PV market landscape and industry trends.

  • Proven track record in account management, channel development, and customer acquisition.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of working under pressure in a dynamic market.

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365; program management experience is a plus.
