Company Overview
Taylor Hopkinson have partnered with a major offshore wind project developer in Japan delivering one of the country’s flagship renewable energy projects. As the project progresses through key delivery phases, the team is seeking experienced project support professionals to strengthen document control and information management capability.

Role Overview
We are looking for a Document Controller to support an offshore wind project based in Tokyo. This role is offered on an initial 12-month contract, with the intention to renew annually and the potential to transition to a permanent position. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing project documentation, supporting contractor interfaces, and ensuring accurate reporting to project management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, quality-check, track, and report project documentation throughout all project phases.

  • Support project teams with document workflows, processes, and system usage.

  • Ensure full traceability, accuracy, and timely distribution of all technical and administrative documentation.

  • Coordinate incoming documents and drawings in line with agreed distribution matrices.

  • Maintain and close out document registers, supporting handover and project close-out reporting.

  • Support continuous improvement of document control routines and systems, including EDMS administration.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a document controller role on large engineering or construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of document management processes and best practices.

  • Hands-on experience using EDMS platforms (experience with Aconex is an advantage).

  • Strong MS Office and SharePoint skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and support multiple workstreams.

  • Fluent English communication skills;

  • Business-level or native Japanese is required.

  • Experience in renewables or offshore projects is an advantage.
