Main Responsibilities:

Design Management:
Create design briefs, manage external consultants, and lead design workshops to ensure alignment with site conditions, costs, and local authority requirements. -
Design Review & Approval:
Evaluate and approve technical documents on the BIM 360 platform for regulatory compliance, cost-efficiency, and resilience. -
Technology Advisory:
Provide guidance on cutting-edge technologies and methods to support low PUE, sustainability, and future-proofing in line with Colt’s global design standards. -
Design Decision Support:
Conduct technical analyses and apply country-specific regulations to assist in optimal design choices. -
Commercial Focus:
Collaborate with Procurement and Delivery teams to ensure cost-effective procurement strategies, focusing on total cost of ownership. -
Testing & Commissioning Oversight:
Ensure testing processes (FAT, SAT, IST) meet both Colt and customer requirements in line with DCS’s commissioning policy.
Requirements:

Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of experience in electrical design, ideally in data center projects, with eligibility for professional accreditation.

Strong expertise in electrical systems design and management, including MEP systems, BMS/EPMS, and multidisciplinary project delivery.

Knowledge of design consultant coordination, cost control, change management, and construction practices specific to Japan.

Detail-oriented, self-driven, organized, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work independently under pressure.

Fluent in Japanese (spoken and written), with decent level English skills (native not needed).

Strong stakeholder and people management skills, with a focus on transparency and integrity.
