Engineering Lead – Korea

We are working with a global leader in renewable energy/safety science who are currently recruiting for a Engineering Lead to provide testing, inspection, and certification services to support product innovation and business growth for their renewable energy projects.

What you’ll learn and achieve:

Leads and manages the Technical Advisory projects & opportunities in Korea in coordination with other service area teams, business development staffs, regional and country managers, and support staffs.

  • Ensure efficient and timely execution of quality work product by technical advisory teams. Coordinate work with other service areas and regions as needed.
  • Meet revenue goals and explore new business opportunities.
  • Manage contacts with customers (lenders, investors and developers), ensure effective response to opportunities, and close sales in coordination with the support team.
  • Ensure conformance to established company methods and procedures. Support methods and procedures development and communities of practice.
  • Lead and manage high profile Independent Engineering (IE) and Technical Advisory (TA) projects for project financing, tax equity, sales, and acquisitions of wind (onshore and offshore) and solar projects and portfolios, including but not limited to overseeing turbine technology review, civil and electrical design review, review of commercial and technical contracts, project schedule, project financial model, CAPEX and OPEX costs, environmental and permitting review, site visits and construction monitoring. Compile and complete IE and TA reports with support from greater engineering team. Summarize key results, conclusions and represent us with the customers.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure repeat business, and support business development staff in acquiring new customers. Promote and coordinate team leaders and staff to support customer relationships and sales.
  • Manage projects as needed. Lead or support the preparation of proposals detailing scope of work, team, budget, and schedule for completion. Identify project risks, barriers, and issues and propose possible solutions and mitigation strategies. Ensure timely completion to quality standards.
  • Manage costs to budget and identify and exploit potential cost savings and efficiency improvements. Track key performance indicators including project profitability, staff utilization, and staff retention, and report results monthly, quarterly, and annually. Identify and address any performance concerns. Select and manage sub-consultants, if required.
  • Coordinate with other services and regions on inter-departmental initiatives to include procedural development, protocol development, cross-training opportunities, and sharing of resources.
  • Represent us at tradeshows, technical conferences and workshops, and business development meetings, as needed.
  • Requires frequent travel to regional offices to support local staff and business development and to other regions and headquarters as needed (25% – 40% travel).
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

What makes you a great fit:

  • You have an academic background in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management.
  • You have gained at least 8+ years of experience in the Wind industry, Offshore Wind experiences is a plus.
  • You have worked as a project manager for renewables projects and have gained deep understanding of a typical project development or due diligence process.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy and master working in a busy environment and you are highly motivated
