Engineering Manager – Onshore Wind

Position Overview

The Manager or Senior Manager of Renewable Engineering will assume responsibility for renewable engineering activities necessary to support technical design and evaluation of utility-scale projects in Invenergy’s Japan market.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the renewable engineering team. Oversee recruitment, training, and development of renewable engineering staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the feasibility of new projects and then assist in obtaining project certifications and permits.
  • Provide details and manage the engineering scope of work with third-party consultant, vendor, and supplier services as necessary.
  • Coordinate with independent engineers and project partners to effectively navigate the technical due diligence process.
  • Collaborate with project developers on the overall planning, direction, coordination, and execution of meteorological resource campaign.
  • Incorporate lessons learned into workflow procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry through various training sessions and conferences.

Minimum Skills/Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Possess advanced knowledge and experience of renewable engineering, including use of wind analysis software (for example, MASCOT, RIAM-COMPACT, Windographer, etc.) and interaction with permitting agencies (for example, ClassNK, METI, etc.)
  • Direct report management experience including the ability to mentor and coach team members.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills which include strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
