Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team. This role involves performing maintenance and troubleshooting for our renewable battery energy storage systems, providing exceptional customer support, and contributing to product development based on field experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct annual preventative maintenance (PPM) checks, capacity tests, and reactive work on renewable energy systems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all work is conducted in a safe manner.
  • Offer phone support and remote diagnostics to customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date records, including timesheets, vehicle checks, job logs, and reports detailing issues and actions taken.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues at customer sites.
  • Perform start-up and commissioning services at customer locations.
  • Collaborate with the in-house system engineering team on product development and project tasks.
  • Provide field-based feedback and suggestions to enhance product performance.
  • Travel to various site locations within your designated area,
  • Receive specialized training from BESS company experts.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with health and safety regulations related to electrical installation projects (RAMS / SHEQ / CDM).
  • Previous experience in an electrical contracting or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with electrical works standards such as BS7671, including renewables, battery storage, electric vehicle charge points, and PV installations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • A full UK driving license is required.
