What you will do:
This role is based in Seoul with potential offshore assignments.
1. Project Management and Coordination
- Organise technical meetings, prepare MoM with the T&I Contractor and monitor and pursue actions from that.
- Liaise with FOU Package Manager to resolve interface-related issues with T&I contractor, pin piles and jackets fabricator and designer and ensure alignment across packages.
- Ensure project deliverables as required in the Employer Requirements and Interface Registers are met.
- Review and challenge the T&I Programme to ensure it aligns with project milestones and deadlines.
- Review and challenge claims from T&I contractor to ensure budget and schedule control in close cooperation with Contract Manager and BOP T&I Package Manager.
2. Engineering and Documentation Review
- Review and accept engineering documentation, including but not limited to:
- Transportation analysis
- Lifting engineering
- Rigging calculations
- Sea fastening designs
- Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Installation procedures
- Progress Reporting
- Ensure all documentation complies with project specifications, industry standards (e.g., DNV, ISO), and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) to obtain necessary approvals for the T&I contractor’s documents.
- Coordinate with Marine Coordination Centre and review Work Authorisation applications by the T&I contractor.
3. Marine Spread and Suitability Surveys
- Conduct suitability surveys for the selected marine spread (vessels, barges, cranes, etc.) to ensure they meet project requirements.
- Ensure all marine spread equipment is certified, inspected, and ready for offshore operations.
4. Load Out, Transportation and Installation Execution
- Oversee the load-out, transportation and installation of the FOU pin piles and FOU jackets, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manage on-site T&I activities, including load-out, sea transportation, and offshore installation.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and project teams to resolve any issues during execution.
- Coordinate with Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) to obtain necessary approvals for the execution of T&I works.
- Coordinate Pre- and Post-Load Out Inspections by the T&I contractor and MWS.
5. Risk Management and Safety
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with T&I activities, ensuring compliance with HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and HAZID/HAZOP studies for T&I operations.
- Ensure all personnel and contractors adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Organise RoC drills with involved parties.
6. Mentorship and Leadership
- Mentor and guide (junior) T&I engineer(s), providing technical support and fostering their professional development.
- Leading the FOU T&I team.
7. Reporting and Communication
- Provide regular progress updates to the BOP T&I Package Manager and other stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed reports on T&I activities, including challenges, solutions, and lessons learned.
- Ensure transparent and effective communication with all project teams and contractors.
To be successful in this role, what you will need:
- Education: minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore wind or oil and gas projects, with a focus on T&I activities
- Proven experience in managing installation and marine operations
- Strong knowledge of lifting engineering, rigging and transportation engineering
- Skills:
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of industry standards (e.g., DNV, ISO, LOLER).
- Ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage at all levels. Korean (desired but not essential – written and spoken)
