Position Overview:
The Grid Connection Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of grid connection for our renewable energy projects in Chile. This includes liaising with local grid operators, ensuring compliance with Chilean grid regulations, and overseeing the technical and administrative processes required for successful grid integration. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the Chilean electricity market, experience working with local grid operators, and a proven track record in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:

Grid Connection Management:
- Lead the process of connecting renewable energy projects to the grid in Chile.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local grid operators, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all grid connection activities comply with Chilean regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and legal, to ensure timely and efficient grid connections.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about changes in grid regulations and requirements in Chile.
- Advise the company on regulatory issues and potential impacts on project development.
- Ensure all documentation and processes are in line with local and national regulations.

Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance and support for grid connection studies, grid code compliance, and grid impact assessments.
- Manage the preparation and submission of grid connection applications and agreements.
- Oversee grid connection testing and commissioning processes.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Represent the company in meetings with grid operators, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.
- Advocate for the company’s interests in discussions about grid connection policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with industry groups and participate in relevant forums to stay ahead of industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in grid connection management within the renewable energy sector.
- In-depth understanding of the Chilean electricity market, grid regulations, and grid operator practices.
- Proven experience working with local grid operators in Chile, such as CEN (Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional).
- Strong technical knowledge of grid connection processes, including grid code compliance and impact assessments.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English are required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with renewable energy technologies, such as solar, wind, inverters or battery storage.
- Knowledge of international grid connection standards and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
