Taylor Hopkinson is recruiting a Grid Connection Manager for a Multinational Company leader in the renewable energy sector.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the entire grid connection process for solarPV, Onshore Wind, and BESS projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in grid connections and a deep understanding of local regulations, as well as technical and economic aspects related to grid infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire grid connection process for renewable energy projects, from preliminary phases to final connection approval.
- Liaise with grid operators and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
- Assess grid connection possibilities and interface options for projects under development.
- Supervise the design and approval of grid connections, working closely with internal and external teams (engineering, legal, development).
- Monitor changes in energy regulations and technical standards related to grid connections.
- Coordinate and optimise the grid connection application process, ensuring project timelines are met.
- Support the development team during the design, construction, and commissioning phases of projects.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to define technical specifications and design grid connection infrastructure (substations, primary/secondary stations, etc.).
- Manage relationships with suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders involved in the connection process.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in renewable energy or electrical grid connection management.
- In-depth knowledge of Italian and European regulations related to grid connections.
- Experience working with grid operators (e.g., Terna, E-Distribuzione) and relevant authorities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical plans.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with an organised, results-oriented approach.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, both at technical and institutional levels.
- Fluency in Italian and English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Italy and internationally
