Group Financial Controller

Role Overview

A leading renewable energy company is seeking a senior finance professional to join its headquarters team, supporting global operations from a central location. This role combines strategic financial planning, analysis, and reporting responsibilities with a strong business partnering focus across corporate functions.

The position offers a unique blend of headquarter and global responsibilities, contributing to both regular and ad hoc initiatives within a dynamic and evolving Controlling environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver financial analysis and insights to corporate functions, supporting performance management and reporting.
  • Lead forecasting, planning, and month-end reporting processes for the headquarters, including preparation of reports and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Drive cost transparency and effectiveness measurement, standardising cost centers and categories across the group.
  • Conduct impairment testing for investments and loans, and support the preparation of annual financial statements (HGB).
  • Contribute to global decision-making and policy development, while continuously improving systems and processes (e.g., SAP S/4Hana, SAP FC, Tagetik, Workday).
  • Support the transformation of Controlling through process optimisation, documentation, and structural improvements.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior Controlling or FP&A role within a corporate or multinational setting.
  • Strong expertise in integrated financial planning (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet) and working with ERP, BI tools, and large datasets.
  • Proven ability to implement and monitor internal controls, with advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Tagetik; financial modelling experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills, with a proactive and flexible approach.
  • Fluent in both German and English.
