Head of BU, Solar, BESS, VPP

My Client is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, dedicated to advancing sustainable technologies. We specialize in solar energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and virtual power plants (VPP), contributing to a cleaner, more resilient energy future. Currently looking for Head of Business Unit for our Solar BESS and VPP division. This leadership role will be responsible for driving the strategic direction, growth, and operational excellence of our business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the business unit’s strategic plan to drive growth, profitability, and market expansion in the solar BESS and VPP sectors.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects within the business unit, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, leveraging insights to inform strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, finance, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive execution of business strategies and customer solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and industry partners, to enhance the company’s market position and influence.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar energy, energy storage, or virtual power plants.
  • Proven track record in business unit leadership, strategic planning, and project management.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and technological advancements in solar BESS and VPP.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
