From Taylor Hopkinson we are searching for a Head of Development to join a leading renewable energy company focused on development, construction and operation of onshore projects in Europe.
This person will be based in Madrid with punctual travels to the headquarters and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the company’s development pipeline across its operating countries in continental Europe, mainly Italy, Poland and Baltic Region.
- Identify and manage new and existing co-development opportunities for solar PV projects across various regions.
- Coordinate M&A activities at a global level and negotiate major agreements with investors and potential collaborators.
- Oversee the entire project pipeline, covering origination, development, permitting, land acquisition, grid connection, market strategy, and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate external partners involved in co-developing projects.
- Used to manage and expand the local development teams, including hiring and training professionals.
- Control budgets and prepare reports for the Board and investors.
- Support the origination of new development activities across different countries.
- Assist the commercial team in originating and negotiating PPAs.
- Support discussions on project finance agreements, procurement, and construction activities.
Requirements:
- Business or Engineering degree; an MBA is desirable.
- Extensive experience in renewable energy project development, with knowledge of European regulations, preferred with deep knowledge and experience in Italian and Polish market.
- Proven experience in greenfield and brownfield project development and M&A activities.
- Strong team management skills.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Spanish is preferred.
- Willingness to travel as required.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
