Taylor Hopkinson is working closely with an established Battery Storage developer to recruit a Head of Legal in the Middle East Africa region. This role will be based in Dubai, UAE.
Key Job Duties:
- The candidate will be responsible for the establishment of overseas entity and risk management of product sales contracts in the Middle East and Africa region, provide legal support for large or complex contracts, assist and guide business negotiations to facilitate signing.
- Regional risk management and provide strategic advice to business management, prevent potential risks in various commercial transactions in the early stages, lead the proper resolution of company litigation or disputes in later stages, and maximize loss avoidance for the company.
- Provide legal support for overseas affairs at the group level across regions or business units (BUs), collaborate with other regions or departments of the group to handle specific, sensitive, or complex overseas legal matters or disputes.
- Supervision and cost control of external lawyers: Select competent external lawyers for different jurisdictions and types of legal matters, control costs, and supervise the quality of external lawyers’ work.
- Team empowerment: Enhance the professional skills of the legal team in the region, closely interact and cooperate with the business team, and provide necessary support and training.
- Process empowerment: Provide professional advice for the update of company system documents, contract templates, and process optimization.
- Compliance management: Provide policy or strategic advice for the company’s compliance affairs, support company system documents, and offer relevant legal compliance training for overseas business.
- Other daily legal support tasks for the company.
Skills Requirement:
- Full-time bachelor’s degree or above, graduated in a related legal field, law firm experience preferred.
- Renewable energy experience will be a bonus
- Over 10 years of legal management experience, familiar with specific overseas regional laws.
- Experience in overseas factory/base construction, and willing to accept expatriation or frequent business trips
