Role Overview – Head of Project Management (Japan)

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Head of Project Management to lead the national project portfolio in Japan. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects-power, thermal, and data center facilities-aligned with the company’s growth objectives and local market needs. The successful candidate will drive project governance, optimize resources, lead cross-functional teams, and serve as the primary interface with senior executives and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of all infrastructure projects across Japan
* Manage the project portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic and financial objectives
* Implement governance frameworks and drive compliance with regulatory and internal standards
* Oversee project performance – ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule
* Act as escalation point for critical risks, resolving issues proactively
* Engage with senior leadership, clients, and partners to drive stakeholder alignment
* Optimize resource allocation and oversee budgets, project staffing, and vendor performance
* Promote continuous improvement and champion best practices across project teams
* Provide strategic leadership in project management methodologies and organizational change initiatives

Requirements

* 10+ years of project management experience, including large-scale infrastructure or engineering projects
* Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams across complex portfolios
* Strong understanding of Japanese regulatory requirements and market dynamics
* PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP or equivalent certification is preferred
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and risk management skills
* Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese is advantageous

* Occasional travel required
