Head of Renewables – Indonesia
We are supporting a global engineering and advisory firm in their strategic expansion into Indonesia's renewable energy sector. As the business scales its presence in the region, we are seeking a senior leader to pioneer and lead the Renewable Energy business in Indonesia-with a strong focus on offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, and broader energy transition initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
As the Head of Renewable Energy, you will:
- Build and drive the Indonesia renewable energy strategy, aligning with regional and global business objectives.
- Lead market development activities across offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, and energy transition projects.
- Establish and grow a high-performing local team, including technical, commercial, and project delivery functions.
- Strengthen relationships with key external stakeholders, including developers, investors, EPCs, government authorities, and industry partners.
- Oversee project bids, proposals, and delivery, ensuring excellence in technical solutions, compliance, and commercial performance.
- Represent the business in industry forums, governmental dialogues, and sector partnerships to influence the clean energy development roadmap in Indonesia.
- Collaborate with regional/global leaders to leverage capabilities, share best practices, and ensure business growth.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will likely bring:
- 10+ years of experience in the energy sector, preferably within renewable energy or offshore wind.
- Experience in leading teams or establishing new business units, ideally within engineering consulting, energy development, EPC, or advisory firms.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesia’s energy landscape, regulatory framework, and market environment.
- Proven track record in business development, stakeholder engagement, and project leadership.
- Existing network within government, utilities, developers, or energy investors is highly advantageous.
- Ability to operate in a start-up / scale-up environment within a global organisation.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Bahasa Indonesia is a strong plus.
