HSE Advisor required for a major utility company based in the Netherlands
Responsibilities
- Drafting and implementing HSE management documents such as instructions and procedures.
- Setting up and implementing a Work Permit system for certain activities.
- Co-analyzing and following up on Safety data such as Incidents, Near Accidents, Dangerous Situations, etc.
- Participating in Task Risk Analyses (TRA sessions).
- Co-organizing Risk Inventories and Evaluations and keeping an HSE Risk Register or HSE plans up to date
- Providing project support in assessing HSE implementation plans, work permits, etc.
- Giving internal and external safety instructions and presentations.
- Conducting and reporting safety inspections and audits in the implementation and operational process.
- Contributing to a better environmental and safety awareness of the organization. (e.g. setting up Safety Leadership programme in collaboration with HSE lead and contractors)
- Drafting other HSE advice and improvement actions in close cooperation with the HSE Lead.
- Attending Safety Meetings with contractors.
Requirements
- At least a HBO working and thinking level and education VCA VOL, Higher Safety Skills (HVK) or similar.
- At least 5 years of offshore experience with relevant HSE aspects of large projects in the oil and gas industry or related industries.
- Experience in setting up and implementing an HSE management system.
- Able to operate as a fully-fledged discussion partner of the HSE Lead at policy level and also has a hands-on mentality to arrange practical HSE matters.
- Knowledge and experience in setting up and managing a work permit system.
- Knowledge and experience in the field of operational HSE management with offshore activities at offshore locations.
- Experience in managing the HSE performance of (sub)contractors and knows how to achieve constructive cooperation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A good command of the Dutch and English language, both verbally and in writing.
