HSE Safety Manager, Construction (Korea)

Location: Korea

We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to oversee environmental health and safety (EHS) on major construction projects. This role works closely with the project management team and General Contractor to proactively identify, mitigate, and manage safety risks throughout design and construction phases, driving an injury-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a proactive, zero-incident safety mindset on site

  • Roll out and manage project-level safety systems and procedures

  • Carry out routine site inspections, safety walks, and compliance checks

  • Support construction planning and design reviews with safety input

  • Guide contractors and subcontractors on safety expectations and standards

  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and targeted safety training

  • Track safety performance metrics and provide regular reporting

  • Lead investigations and corrective actions for incidents and near misses

  • Maintain all required safety records and site postings

  • Act as the main point of contact for safety-related coordination

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Korea construction safety regulations (mandatory)

  • Familiarity with international safety frameworks (e.g. OSHA, ISO)

  • At least 8 years of experience in construction site safety roles

  • Exposure to high-rise projects, lifting operations, and energy-related hazards

  • Comfortable working alongside general contractors and site leadership

  • Fluent in Korean and English is a must

  • Safety qualifications or certifications strongly preferred

  • Trained in fall protection, scaffolding, excavation, and trench safety

  • First Aid / CPR certified

  • Strong communicator with a practical, solution-driven approach
