Roles & Responsibilities
Technical integrity :
* Define the technical requirements, improvements and the maintenance strategy for the electrical equipment with main focus on the high voltage cables (HV cables) in the Continental Europe O&M Offshore business in order to maximize the availability, reliability and efficiency of the assets, as per the best industry practices.
* Provide support to O&M engineering, assistance and recommendations to ensure delivery of mid to large scale O&M works within time, to budget and quality following industry best practice and observing the maximum respect for Health, Safety and the Environment to ensure regulatory and legal compliance
* Identify and claim to the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) all the technical defects found in the Electrical equipment with main focus on the HV cables and participate actively alongside the Iberdrola Contract Manager in the claim process.
* Identify the technical risks in the Business as a consequence of the condition of the Electrical equipment with main focus on the HV cables components and define the necessary actions to eliminate or mitigate these risks as much as reasonably possible. Evaluate O&M solutions / risk levels affecting technical integrity or asset performance
and provide mitigation recommendations to ensure that cost effective O&M solutions are identified, fully evaluated and the risk profile can be reduced appropriately by the O&M teams.
* Assess the technical issues/incidents related to the Electrical equipment with main focus on the HV cables performing troubleshooting in order to determine the root causes and make sure that all necessary actions and design modifications to prevent this incident from happening again are put in place
* Monitor and supervise the preventive/corrective activities carried out in the Electrical
equipment with main focus on the HV cables, which are required to guarantee/recover
the wind farm availability. Make sure that the required works quality and the conditions
in the contract are fulfilled.
* Produce the necessary procedures in order to guarantee that the maintenance
activities are fully deployed. Implement offshore standards, procedures, tools, best practices and quality requirements
* Ensure that all assessment, advice and recommendations are fully documented in accordance with all internal procedures and industry best practice, and that sufficient
technical and commercial due diligence (whether internal or external) exists to support those business decisions
* Support Design Reviews, FAT and SAT’s activities for HV & MV cables (33kV – 400kV)
* Identify and manage Critical Spares (Cable & Accessories) to manage risk exposure
Regulation and Legal requirements :
* Make sure that the applying legal requirements affecting the Electrical equipment with
main focus on the HV cables are completely fulfilled as per the conditions defined by
the local official bodies in the country where the Wind Farm stands.
* Work with the HSE team to develop HSE strategy for O&M works and ensure a high
standard of health and safety awareness is maintained.
Coordination :
* Coordination of activities and standardization of the best practices in the Global O&M
Offshore
* Extend the lessons learnt and the best practices to the other Hubs within the O&M
Offshore Business. Assist and coordinate with employees working within a number of
countries throughout Europe (UK, Germany, France, Spain…) and USA to ensure
project execution with intelligent and cost-effective resourcing.
* Coordinate the maintenance strategies for electrical systems with the other Offshore
O&M Hubs (UK and USA) so that uniformed, global & standardized solutions are
implemented
* Coordinate the execution of the maintenance activities with the local Iberdrola Site
staff based in the Wind Farm in order to make sure that these maintenance activities
are carried out safely, timely and with the required quality.
* Regarding the new wind farm projects (under development and construction) define,
alongside the project team and the Principal Manager for Transmission Equipment in
Operations Engineering, the best solutions to be implemented so that Operation and
Maintenance activities will be as efficient as possible once the Wind Farm enters into
the commercial operation phase. Provide key and strategic advice, assessment and
recommendations to the business giving input and support to the projects throughout
the whole life cycle (development to decommissioning)
* Coordinate the Electrical equipment with main focus on the HV cables maintenance
strategy with the other Hubs within the Global Offshore O&M Business, i.e. UK and
USA, standardizing global approaches.
* Manage the personnel under self remit, identify their training needs and put in place
the necessary actions to fulfill those gaps
* Interact, within the scope of own responsabilities, with the Global Technical Services,
OEM, Offshore Site teams, grid operators, certifiers and regulatory bodies in order to
deploy a highest efficient and technical capability relationship.
Contract & Procurement
* Provide input on appropriate bid levels / commercial strategies and commercial
agreements relative to projects. Provide key input in the preparation of investment
dossiers for all funding requests for projects
* Produce technical specifications (scope of works) and technical evaluations of the
bidders as required, playing an active role in the procurement procceses so that the
most technically qualified providers are selected.
* Manage effectively the assigned maintenance contracts, contributing to maximize the
financial business results throughout the reduction of the operating costs and the
execution of high quality maintenance activities
