Job Description:
We are seeking a High Voltage Engineer to support a large-scale PV project in Texas. This role will be critical in providing engineering expertise during the execution phase of the project, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that the highest standards of engineering are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise during the execution phase of the project, ensuring all engineering requirements are met.
- Review Interconnection Agreements, Interconnection Study documents, and related technical documents to make recommendations on equipment specifications.
- Coordinate with ISOs (Independent System Operators), utilities, and external contractors to identify and interpret engineering needs.
- Identify and propose value engineering opportunities, making recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain internal processes to document engineering milestones and implementation plans during the project execution phase.
- Review and ensure that EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) designs for the project substation and interconnection meet technical requirements.
- Monitor commissioning activities to ensure that all engineering design requirements are implemented as planned.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation), IEEE, and other applicable requirements.
- Act as a technical resource, providing guidance on engineering-related matters throughout the project execution phase.
- Attend both in-person and remote meetings with interconnecting utilities to discuss progress and requirements.
- Review owner-furnished equipment technical submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual obligations.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Field Engineer, Foreman, or Superintendent in High Voltage for utilities or contractors.
- Availability to work in the Texas region.
- Valid driving license.
