Company is end-to-end battery energy storage systems (BESS) business, focusing exclusively on grid-scale battery storage infrastructure. Their business model covers development, construction and operations of BESS assets across multiple geographies.
Key Responsibilities

Manage operations of grid-connected battery energy storage systems (BESS) and work closely with Market & Policy Analysts and Risk Managers to optimize asset performance and profitability.

Support trade execution and settlement activities in the Japan Electric Power Exchange (JEPX) spot and day-ahead markets, as well as the Electricity Price Regulation Exchange (EPRX).

Prepare and submit required operational plans and reports to the Organization for Cross-Regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO) and EPRX.

Manage procedures for participation in new markets, including EPRX market entry tests.
- Act as the main point of contact for external stakeholders such asJEPX,EPRX,OCCTO, transmission system operators (TSOs), andMETI, while coordinating with the internal Finance team on settlement operations.

Prepare and submit regulatory reports to METI and manage the acquisition and maintenance of licenses related to BESS operations, including retail, generation, and aggregator licenses.

Collaborate with overseas teams to acquire necessary licenses, manage regulatory reporting, and integrate global best practices into Japan’s trading strategy development.
Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in electricity supply and demand operations within Japan.

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in physical short-term power trading in Japan (JEPX spot and day-ahead markets).

Strong understanding of Japan’s electricity market structure and regulatory environment.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and in a team setting.

Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine passion for power trading.

Comfortable communicating and collaborating with overseas teams (English proficiency not required).
