Opportunity to join a leading solar Panel manufacturing company as Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel / Legal Manager , based on experience.
In this role you will provide day to day legal support across commercial contracting, supply chain and trade and regulatory compliance related to solar module manufacturing and sales.
The core focus of the role will be managing U.S. forced labor compliance and supply chain traceability obligations in connection with solar module imports.
The ideal candidate will have experience in communicating with the USCBP and has experience handling UFLPA Detentions directly with the USCBP.
Core Responsibilities
- Managing, reviewing, organizing, and maintaining supply chain traceability documentation, including documentation required under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) and related enforcement frameworks. This will be a core responsibility of the role.
- Directly interfacing with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the event of cargo detention, examination, or enforcement action, including preparing and submitting traceability documentation and coordinating release of detained merchandise.
- Advising internal teams on CBP standards and best practices for preparation, organization, and submission of traceability documentation.
- Supporting domestic content, FEOC, and tax credit related certifications and compliance efforts.
- Advising on solar module manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution issues.
- Reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements including MSAs, supply agreements, purchase orders, NDAs, and logistics contracts.
- Supporting trade, tariff, and customs matters including AD/CVD, Section 301, and related import compliance issues.
- Handling routine legal matters currently outsourced to outside counsel.
- Coordinating with outside counsel on specialized matters as needed.
Candidate Profile
- Active U.S. bar admission
- Legal experience in supporting solar manufacturing company is necessary
- Advanced proficiency with U.S. forced labor related laws and regulations, including the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) and related enforcement frameworks
- Strong knowledge of CBP standards and practices for preparation, organization, and submission of traceability documentation
- Prior hands-on experience handling CBP detentions, examinations, or traceability documentation submissions is strongly preferred
- Intellectual Property experience is a plus but not required
