LV Electrical Engineer required for a major offshore wind developer based in Poland.
Responsibilities.
- Design, specify, and integrate LV electrical systems (typically up to 1kV)for offshore applications, especially being part of the Foundations and Offshore Substation.
- Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), circuit protection schemes, load calculations, and cable sizing.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, BS, API, DNV, and ABS standards.
- Assist in selecting LV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, distribution boards, cabling,
- Assist in selecting Corrosion protection systems, Structural monitoring systems.
- Work with HV/LV power distribution systems in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Conduct electrical risk assessments and isolation planning for offshore LV systems.
- Prepare and execute (PTW), (LOTO), and electrical safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HSE and offshore operational safety guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and rectify LV electrical faults during commissioning and operation phases.
- Provide offshore technical support, FAT and SAT.
- Prepare technical reports, test procedures, method statements, and commissioning plans.
- Maintain as-built documentation, cable schedules, and panel layouts.
- Review and update electrical drawings, protection settings, and design modifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in LV electrical engineering for offshore applications.
- Strong background in offshore platforms, FPSOs, wind farms, or marine vessels.
- Hands-on experience in electrical isolation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar electrical design tools.
- Familiarity with IEC 60079 (explosive atmospheres), IEC 61892 (offshore installations), and API RP 14F.
- Knowledge of LV motors, generators, UPS systems, VFDs, and power distribution networks.
- Understanding of protection relays, power factor correction, and earthing systems.
