Role Summary:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer (Grid Connection Manager) to join our team in Rome. This role involves managing the grid connection of offshore wind projects, with responsibilities covering everything from preliminary design to the executive stages of electrical systems. As a key player in our offshore wind initiatives, you’ll ensure project compliance with technical regulations, optimize grid connection designs, and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and size MV-LV distribution panels and HV/EHV electrical networks to support offshore wind installations.
- Prepare and verify detailed project documentation, including technical reports, schematics, and specifications for electrical equipment.
- Analyze electromagnetic fields to ensure compliance with safety standards and calculate safe distances.
- Apply your expertise in renewable energy conversion systems to optimize project design and execution.
- Independently handle the design of electrical systems from preliminary planning to executive design stages.
- Develop calculations, technical reports, and bills of quantities for electrical systems.
- Verify project and order documentation for compliance with technical standards and regulations.
- Participate actively in project meetings, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Review and approve supplier documentation, technical requirements, and interconnection schemes.
- Conduct cable sizing verification and review electrical material lists (MTOs) to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical system design, preferably in offshore renewable energy projects.
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting plant project plans and specifications.
- Solid knowledge of industry technical standards and energy regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a strong ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple tasks.
