Operations Engineer

Operations Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer/Green Hydrogen project to be based in Italy.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise directly with EPCI Commissioning Manager and any other EPCI management as required on ongoing basis.
  • Liaise with Project Management Team.
  • Confirm as-built drawings reflect the status of the plant.
  • Ensure all required ITR’s have been completed.
  • Ensure there are no outstanding TQ’s associated with the Systems / Sub-System.
  • Punch out the relevant system / sub-system and ensure any category “A” items get resolved to conclusion/ satisfaction to be able to complete and sign off any required corrective works.
  • Ensure the As-Built folder(s) are maintained.
  • Ensure that if the system / sub-system is left “live”, notices are applied in appropriate areas.
  • Become familiar with Commissioning Scopes
  • Review and build a full and complete understanding of the key commissioning deliverables, Commissioning Strategy, Mechanical Completion & Commissioning Execution Plan, Punch List Procedure, Template OTP, Proverlis Management Procedure, System Boundary Drawings, System & Sub-System List.
  • Become familiar with Installation Operations & Maintenance Scopes
  • Review IOMs from various vendors, and other Operations Philosophy documents when made available.
  • Support with oversight of Commissioning Execution.
  • Be hands-off (as EPCI are responsible for execution) but ability to provide appropriate information to the EPCI Contractor as and when required.
  • Ensure that the “live” System Boundary Drawing folder is maintained.
  • Review the CMS to confirm tags assigned as expected in line with System Boundary Drawings.
  • Review of engineering deliverables.
  • Support for PSUA, RFSU, RFSA etc.
  • Ensure all systems are made good for offshore barge transport i.e. isolation’s put in place etc. by the EPCI Contractor.

Requirements

  • Strong, and demonstrated, personal commitment to Safety Leadership.
  • Experience in Execute phase; offshore project experience preferred.
  • Relevant experience in new technology development would be considered a plus.
  • Experience in managing contractors and/or equipment suppliers.
  • Team player with good interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiative.
  • Ability to lead and influence contractor organisations to deliver to plan requirements and expectations around project performance.
  • Self-driven, proactive individuals with strong performance track record and business mindset with ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work across a multi-cultural environment.
  • Self-awareness of strength and weaknesses and capable of delivering under pressure.
  • Considerable amount of travel and time-on-site will be required (2 week rotations)
