OSS HV Commissioning Engineer required for a major Offshore Wind Farm Developer based in Dubai.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support Commissioning activities for the OSS for both the Yard works driving the completion of the yard works in order to minimise the amount of commissioning works offshore.
- Ensure that the contractor satisfactorily completes their commissioning works.
- Provide the overview of all commissioning activities for the HVDC system to the Client commissioning team on a regular basis.
- Work with the Client (Commissioning, Engineering and Quality) and Contractor Technical teams to respond to questions – report quality issues and support their resolution.
- Attend SATs and manage ITPs from a technical perspective.
- Provide training and handover to the offshore commissioning team.
- Coordinate and complete the commissioning file
- Respond to technical questions relating to the readiness to commission.
- Ensure that there is an effective handover of commissioning activities between the yard based and offshore work.
- Client witness and sign off of commissioning works.
- Investigate and report on Faults during the commissioning phase.
- Represent Commissioning team in onshore coordination and SIMOP meetings.
- Support Commissioning Package Manager to ensure required onshore Commissioning procedures are available.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate ‘As Built’ Drawings and Commissioning Records are kept by the Subcontractor.
Requirements
- Experience in the commissioning and operation of HVDC Converter stations. Such as:
- IGBT switching system
- Cable testing (DC & AC)
- AC switchyard systems
- Protection and control systems
- Transformers (330kV)
- HV switchgear (400kV & 66kV)
- IOSH/NEBOSH
- Familiarity with HV Safety Rules and their requirements.
- Proven track record in a Client role.
- Understanding of Safe Systems of Work.
- Self-starting with planning/coordination and problem solving abilities.
- Fluent written and verbal English with good communication skills.
