Overseas EPC Project Director – Renewables (Solar & BESS)

Opportunity for an EPC project manager / project director to join a global leading solar, BESS developer and IPP company , as Overseas EPC Project/ Investment Director.
The position will be responsible for the end-to-end management of PV + BESS power plant projects, including overseas projects, covering technical solution evaluation, design , bidding and procurement, construction, commissioning, acceptance, and final handover. This position requires a strong background in EPC project execution, engineering management, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full life cycle management of PV projects from early evaluation through construction, commissioning, acceptance, and handover.
  • Develop and implement detailed project execution plans covering schedule, cost, quality, safety, and resources.
  • Oversee project progress, ensuring strong cost control, quality assurance, and safety performance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, design reviews, and drawing optimisations to meet standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve major technical issues and ensure proper selection of PV system components.
  • Supervise on‑site construction activities, contractors, and milestone acceptances across all phases.
  • Address on‑site challenges including design changes, construction issues, material supply, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Manage EPC, construction, and procurement contracts, including cost monitoring, payments, and variation approvals.
  • Maintain robust quality and safety systems, performing inspections and ensuring proper documentation management.
  • Lead and develop the engineering team while coordinating internal functions and external stakeholders, including grid‑connection support.
  • Contribute to internal project proposals, investment memos, management presentations, and support partnership processes by coordinating communication with potential partners, advisers, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Analyse complex project challenges and develop solution options, decision frameworks, and structured recommendations for management.
  • Propose value‑enhancing strategies to optimise project performance, reduce costs, mitigate risks, and improve development processes across international markets.
Requirements:
  • 8 to 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in PV power plant project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering or project‑management‑related fields.
  • Proven experience in utility‑scale or large C&I PV projects.
  • Successfully led at least two full‑cycle PV projects (≥10 MWp) through grid connection.
  • EPC turnkey project management experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of PV system design, construction processes, acceptance standards, and grid‑connection procedures.
  • Familiarity with national/international engineering standards, technical regulations, and safety codes.
  • Proficient in PM software (MS Project, Primavera P6), CAD, and MS Office; PV simulation tools a plus.
  • Strong cost awareness and understanding of PV equipment technologies and market trends.
  • Willing to travel frequently, with strong communication, coordination, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
