Overview
- Join a dynamic Energy Management team within a leading independent power producer in the Iberian Peninsula. Your role will contribute to the growth and development of the Energy Management sector.
- Collaborate on defining and implementing strategies to optimize energy sales and hedging policies, aiming to boost portfolio profits while mitigating market and operational risks in a volatile power market.
- Structure and analyze products for negotiation in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
- Analyze and monitor the position and risk control of the current and prospective portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the definition, implementation, and enforcement of risk policies for the Energy Management of current and future portfolios.
- Optimize the portfolio based on market risk analysis, utilizing risk metrics such as P&L, MtM valuation, VaR, and WCS.
- Develop and implement a market risk strategy for the portfolio, aligning with the company’s hedging policy.
- Create and refine tools to enhance the analysis and visualization of portfolio positions and evaluate hedges (ERTM).
- Structure and analyze products involved in the hedging strategy for both short-term and long-term (PPA).
- Identify and analyze risks based on market fundamentals.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in the derivatives market.
- In-depth knowledge of the Iberian power production market (Spain and Portugal).
- Experience in risk management related to the energy market.
Education
- Degree in a scientific-technical field or engineering, with additional training and verifiable knowledge relevant to the position.
- A Risk Certification (FRM) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Python programming is a plus.
