Power Market Manager (Energy) – France

Our chosen candidate will spearhead research and analysis within the power markets of France and neighbouring regions, with a specific emphasis on renewable energy economics. Engaging actively with industry associations and advisors, you will delve into the intricacies of the French power market, considering both market fundamentals and regulatory dynamics. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing the formulation of long-term wholesale power prices and evaluating asset revenues within the French electricity market. Additionally, your insights will contribute to shaping our perspective on the Italian power market. These analyses will guide commercial assessments of existing renewable assets, potential investments, and strategic divestments. As a recognized expert in the French power sector, you’ll collaborate closely with the International Markets team within Energy Economics (EE)-a dedicated group of market analysts and experts providing invaluable market intelligence for both European and non-European markets, supporting our global expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the process of developing and maintaining market insight reports.
  • These reports will encompass essential aspects such as supply and demand fundamentals, market design, policy mechanisms, and market-specific factors.
  • Your insights will guide the BU in assessing opportunities and market attractiveness.
  • Manage the support provided by our Energy Economics (EE) team.
  • Specifically, you’ll contribute to project development, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and subsidy auctions in both France and neighboring markets.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations, including those for senior leadership (up to Managing Director and Group Executive levels).
  • Take the lead in fostering external industry relationships.
  • Proactively engage with relevant industry bodies, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders.
  • Your goal is to influence the evolution of the energy market positively.
  • Build strong connections with internal teams.
  • By doing so, we can consistently deliver exceptional service from project inception.
  • Your analysis will contribute to strategic planning and risk assessment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold a degree in a relevant field such as mathematics, economics, or engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in wholesale energy market analysis.
  • Proficiency in economic and commercial modeling.
  • Deep comprehension of power market economics and policy mechanisms.
  • Skilled at engaging with external stakeholders.
  • Represent our company effectively within the industry.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
