Company Overview

Taylor Hopkinson has partnered with a marine cable business company in Korea.

Responsibilities:

  • Subcontract agreements for domestic and overseas submarine power/telecommunication cable construction projects
  • Subcontract agreements for domestic and overseas offshore wind power projects
  • Purchase contracts for domestic and overseas offshore construction equipment
  • Repair of domestic and overseas offshore construction equipment and purchase of spare parts
  • Enrollment in insurance and guarantees related to domestic and overseas submarine/offshore construction projects
  • Comparison of quotations, cost analysis, review of technical and detailed specifications, and negotiation of contract terms
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts (including special conditions)
  • Establishment of negotiation strategies for contract unit prices and analysis of market trends such as material prices and exchange rates
  • Risk analysis (delivery schedule, quality, financial, and legal risks)
  • Handling contract changes and claims
  • Identification of new suppliers and evaluation of existing suppliers
  • Enrollment in construction-related insurance and bank guarantees

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, International Trade, or related fields
  • At least 5 years of experience in marine construction contract-related work
  • Experience in sales (order-winning contracts) and subcontracting for submarine cable construction projects
  • At least 5 years of experience in shipyard contracts (prime contracts or subcontract contracts)
  • At least 5 years of experience as a ship management technical superintendent
  • Experience in submarine cable laying/burial installation works
  • At least 8 years of experience in the same or related industry
  • Proficiency in English
