Taylor Hopkinson is looking for an experienced Project and Construction Manager in Portugal to join a big international EPC company in renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning and implementation of large-scale solar PV farm projects (5 – 100 MWp) in Portugal.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines from initial development through to construction.
  • Coordinate all project activities, ensuring timely completion and efficient resource management to achieve project objectives.
  • Oversee the construction of PV farms, including subcontractor selection and supervision, and work closely with site engineers to organize tasks and set priorities.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and service providers to ensure smooth collaboration with the internal project team.
  • Allocate and manage project resources effectively to enhance performance.
  • Work with engineering and procurement teams to ensure materials and equipment are available on time.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures throughout the project.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and local authorities.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to monitor expenses and report on financial performance and cash flow.
  • Oversee the acceptance of investments.
  • Assist the investor with ongoing inquiries, prepare reports, and provide answers.
  • Supervise the energization process of the photovoltaic farm.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in the solar industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar position.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction management processes, techniques, and methods.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the construction process.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Preferred education: A degree in construction management, electrical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Ideally, the candidate is a Certified Construction Manager with a valid license for constructing large-scale PV farms.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Native Portuguese speaker.
  • Possession of a Category B driving license.
