Project Development Director, Italy

We are seeking an experienced, strategic and results-oriented Director to lead and manage the execution of a growing project pipeline in Italy. This senior role will be responsible for all aspects of project development in Italy starting upon investment decision and until the projects reach the ready-to-build (RTB) status, including: permitting, interconnection, land, off-take, etc. The Project Development Director will manage a team of four project managers, oversee collaboration

Role’s Responsibilites

· Lead Enlight’s execution of its utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar PV, wind, storage) pipeline across Italy from post-origination to ready-to-build.

· Manage the Italian Project Development team, including task allocation, performance oversight and professional development. Monitor the team’s execution against goals, timelines, and budgets.

· Develop and implement annual and long-term development work plans for Italy, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

· Manage and enhance relationships with key national and regional stakeholders, including ministries, TERNA, Regions and permitting authorities.

· Direct and maintain the interfaces with key external partners and consultants, including co-developers, legal advisors and engineering firms to ensure successful project delivery.

· Oversee and track project budgets, schedules, and milestones, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.

· Provide regular status reports and strategic updates to senior management, including project progress, financial forecasts, and risk assessments.

· Coordinate closely with company headquarters in Israel, working with engineering, procurement, construction, and finance departments to align project execution and planning.

About YOU

· Solid years of experience in renewable energy project development in Italy, with a proven record in large-scale or utility-scale projects.

· Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and management of complex stakeholder environments.

· Deep understanding of the Italian permitting process, interconnection frameworks, land regulations, and environmental compliance.

· Experience in planning, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting for large infrastructure projects.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage both internal and external relationships.

· Previous experience in an international company or a major energy developer in Italy strongly preferred.

· Fluent in Italian and English.

· Willing to travel across Italy and occasionally to Israel and other international locations.
