Job Description: Solar Project Development Director – Philippines
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Solar Project Development Director to lead and oversee the development of large-scale solar projects from inception through completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in renewable energy project development, strong regulatory knowledge, and excellent relationship-building skills. This role requires strategic and tactical planning to align with company objectives, ensuring compliance and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Objectives:
– Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans to achieve company objectives in solar greenfield project development.
Regulatory Research and Compliance:
– Conduct thorough research on regulations related to renewable energy power stations.
– Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations at all stages of development.
Relationship Management:
– Develop and maintain relationships with administrative departments, developers, and investors to identify and secure potential projects.
– Liaise with internal Group teams to resolve financial models and risk control requirements.
Project Development and Permitting:
– Lead all project development activities, including the permitting process.
– Collaborate with internal and external partners and stakeholders across various organizational levels to create studies and designs.
Progress and Compliance Monitoring:
– Lead and facilitate progress meetings, internal meetings, and investor meetings.
– Provide briefings and project updates to senior team members.
– Assist with and deliver reporting requirements to investors and project companies.
Project Management:
– Perform basic project management tasks, including creating and managing timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
– Identify and analyze potential PV sites.
– Negotiate lease, license, permit, and town planning contracts with property owners and authorities.
– Oversee the entire approval process, from development plan changes to obtaining building permits.
– Prepare and process all necessary approval and project documents.
– Select, commission, and coordinate service providers such as planners and experts.
– Create project plans and control projects regarding schedule and cost management.
– Apply for and plan grid connections.
– Prepare all necessary documents for participation in official tendering processes.
Qualifications:
– Proven experience in large-scale solar greenfield project development (6 years relevant industry experience in Philippines)
– In-depth knowledge of renewable energy regulations and compliance requirements.
– Strong strategic planning, project management, and organizational skills.
– Excellent relationship-building abilities with administrative departments, developers, and investors.
– Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
– Strong negotiation skills and experience with contracts related to property and town planning.
– Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
– Strong communication and presentation skills for investor and senior team briefings.
– Proficiency in creating and managing project plans, time lines, and budgets.
