Role Overview
This position involves overseeing the early-phase development of renewable energy projects, ensuring technical feasibility, securing land agreements, managing permitting processes, and facilitating grid connection. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders, external consultants, and internal teams to bring projects from inception to execution.
Key Responsibilities
Site Identification & Feasibility

Identifying and assessing potential locations for renewable energy initiatives, ensuring they meet strategic and technical criteria.

Engaging with property owners and negotiating agreements to secure land use rights.

Conducting preliminary evaluations, including site resources, accessibility to transmission networks, and viability of project execution.

Coordinating technical assessments, forming conceptual designs, and exploring interconnection possibilities.
Permitting & Compliance

Managing third-party specialists conducting environmental, social, and regulatory impact studies.

Establishing relationships with local authorities, community groups, and regulatory bodies to facilitate project approvals.

Navigating development permits, land use changes, and compliance requirements for both the project site and associated infrastructure.

Collaborating with agencies and government representatives to ensure alignment with regulations and policies.
Grid Connection & Technical Coordination

Facilitating technical evaluations in partnership with engineers and grid specialists to ensure interconnection feasibility.

Coordinating with transmission operators and regulatory entities to fulfill connection approval requirements.

Overseeing documentation, modeling studies, and contractual agreements necessary for integration into the electrical network.
Project Structuring & Risk Management

Supporting financial due diligence and risk assessment activities to ensure project bankability.

Assisting in structuring agreements related to power purchase, funding, and commercial partnerships.

Identifying and addressing potential challenges that may arise during project development and execution.

Working closely with internal teams to align development goals with business growth strategies.
Industry Engagement & Representation

Representing the company at industry-related events, networking with key stakeholders.

Engaging in discussions with developers, regulators, and service providers to remain informed about industry developments.
Qualifications & Skills

At least three years of experience in renewable energy project development, particularly in solar or wind.

Strong background in land acquisition and permitting for early-stage projects.

Familiarity with development contracts, various procurement methods, and negotiation strategies.

Hands-on experience in navigating grid connection processes for renewable energy systems.

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including landowners, regulatory bodies, and financial partners.

Demonstrated experience in preparing investment cases and feasibility studies.

Proven ability to adapt within a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
