PV/BESS Designer Engineer

Job Title: PV and BESS Design Engineer
Location: Rome
Work Schedule: Full-time
Project Locations: Primarily in Italy, Spain, Germany, and the UK

Your Responsibilities:

  • Development of design drawings and optimization of technical solutions for PV plants and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including:
  • Layout design, component selection, and system coupling
  • Producibility analysis and drafting of descriptive reports
  • Drafting of estimated metric calculations
  • Calculation and sizing of photovoltaic plants, MV cables, and MV/HV substations
  • Executive design of utility-scale PV plants and BESS, including review and validation
  • Drafting of As-Built documents
  • Coordination with the site manager during construction to ensure compliance with the executive design
  • Technical support to Project Managers during site operation
  • Analysis of test results on photovoltaic modules and plant components during Mechanical Completion and PAC phases
  • Support in defining and reviewing EPC contracts
  • Technical assistance in negotiations with customers, suppliers, and external consultants Your Profile:
    • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
    • 4+ years of experience in a similar role
    • Strong proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, and PVCase
    • Experience with DigSilent is an advantage
    • Analytical mindset with a structured and problem-solving approach
    • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across various projects
    • Passion for renewable energy and technical innovation
    • Valid Class B driver’s license
    • Residence in Rome, Italy, or willingness to relocate
    • Fluent English and Italian skills, both spoken and written
    • Structured and analytical approach with a problem-solving mindset
    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a team of experienced engineers
    • Passion for renewable energy and sustainable technologies
