Taylor Hopkinson is seeking an experienced Project Development Director / Regional Head to lead and drive renewable energy project development activities in Eastern Europe.
This strategic leadership role involves investment planning, business strategy execution, project development management, and M&A activities across solar, wind and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Role based in Bucharest, with some flexibility to work from other cities in Romania
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute investment plans and business strategies for renewable energy projects in Eastern Europe.
- Lead and manage the project development team, ensuring successful execution of solar, wind, and BESS projects.
- Oversee and execute M&A transactions, including acquisitions and divestments of renewable energy assets.
- Negotiate and finalize Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects align with financial, regulatory, and operational requirements.
- Monitor market trends and regulatory frameworks to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risks.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in the renewable energy sector working in project development for solar, wind, or BESS.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive high-performing teams.
- Strong expertise in M&A transactions and renewable energy project lifecycle management.
- Experience in negotiating PPAs and other key project agreements.
- Understanding of project finance is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in Romanian and proficiency in English.
