Taylor Hopkinson is searching for an experienced Renewable & Storage Assets Trader for a global industrial and energy company covering two business Sectors: Energy and Metallurgy.

The job location is Bucharest, Romania.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the successful launch of the department in the Romanian Electricity market, focusing on trading Renewable and Storage Assets (both owned and third-party).
  • Act as the primary liaison between the department and key stakeholders in the Romanian Electricity Wholesale Market.
  • Take part in weekend and holiday operations for the Renewable & Storage Asset Optimisation unit on a rotational basis.
  • Play a crucial role in representing the department in the Romanian Electricity Market, actively participating in conferences, public consultations, and seminars.
  • Contribute to the development of analytical tools to support the department’s daily operations.
  • Monitor the department’s performance in the Romanian Electricity Market using data analytics and devised strategies to improve profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate studies in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science are advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in the power market industry, specifically in energy portfolio management, asset optimization, or trading departments.
  • Experience in proprietary or asset trading within electricity markets.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory framework for the Romanian Electricity Market.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and manage large datasets.
  • Proficiency in optimization algorithms and data analytics.
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following: VBA, Python, Matlab, or GAMS.
