Sales Manager – Transformers

Taylor Hopkinson is in the lookout for a Sales Transformer Manager with a global leader in power equipment manufacturing, specializing in transformers, switchgear, and complete substation solutions. As part of a publicly listed group with annual revenue exceeding $10 billion and a market capitalization of $2.3 billion, the are among the world’s top suppliers serving the renewable energy, utility, and industrial sectors.


Our client is seeking a dynamic Regional Sales Manager to drive business growth across the United States. This individual will be responsible for defining regional sales strategies, developing new customer accounts, managing key relationships, and expanding market presence in the utility-scale transformer, switchgear, and substation sectors. The ideal candidate has a proven background in technical or capital equipment sales within power, T&D, or renewable energy markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the regional annual and long-term sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets.

  • Identify and develop new customer accounts, partnerships, and channel relationships across utilities, developers, EPCs, and OEMs.

  • Manage and strengthen existing customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty through ongoing support and engagement.

  • Define and manage sales channels and distribution strategies to expand market reach.

  • Achieve and exceed sales KPIs for A/B/C-classified customers and strategic accounts.

  • Provide market insights, competitor analysis, and forecasting to guide business decisions.

  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and project teams to deliver optimal technical and commercial solutions.

  • Build and lead a growing sales and support team as business volume expands.

  • Represent the company at key trade shows, industry conferences, and client meetings across the region.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA a plus).

  • 5-10+ years of experience in power equipment, transformer, switchgear, or substation sales.

  • Proven track record in utility-scale or industrial market sales with demonstrated success meeting or exceeding targets.

  • Strong technical and commercial understanding of power systems and renewable infrastructure.

  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global organization.
